The Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, will spare no effort to defend the just Palestinian cause, Morocco’s ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Mohamed Ait Ouali, said Monday in Cairo.

Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, will spare no effort to defend the just Palestinian cause in all international forums, by mobilizing its resources and relations to relaunch the peace process, with a view to the establishment of an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders, with East Al-Quds as its capital, and capable of interacting with its international environment in full sovereignty, said the Moroccan diplomat, who was chairing an extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Arab League at the level of permanent delegates, devoted to examining developments in the situation in Palestine.

Morocco has always been and will stand by the Palestinian people and their government led by President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, he said. The Kingdom, which has adopted the values of peace as a strategic choice, never ceases to advocate for a political horizon based on the two-state solution, as agreed internationally, as a realistic option capable of ensuring the security of the peoples of the region and protecting them from the cycle of violence and war.

Ait Ouali emphasized that resolving the Palestinian question is the key to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. Resolving this issue in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Security Council, based on the two-state solution, is the path to establishing a just and comprehensive peace. It ensures security and a decent life for all the peoples of the region.

The meeting, held at Palestine’s request, focused on examining the political, legal, and diplomatic measures to be undertaken or supported within the framework of the League of Arab States.
