HM the King Orders Opening of Mosques Built or Having Undergone Reconstruction or Restoration by Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ministry

HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist Him, has ordered the opening of mosques built or having undergone reconstruction or restoration by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

A press release from the Ministry indicates that these mosques numbered 43, of which 17 are newly built  and 24 are restored, including the Al Koutoubia, which suffered damage during the earthquake. They also include the Mohammed VI Mosque in the city of Abidjan in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and the Mohammed VI Mosque in the city of Conakry in the Republic of Guinea.

The total capacity of these mosques is of 25,500 worshippers, at a total cost of 561.7 million dirhams, adds the same source.
